“Szekler Bride” Exhibition - Sfântu Gheorghe

The Szekler Bride exhibition opened in Sfântu Gheorghe on March 20, 2026, in a solemn and elevated atmosphere. It arrived in Sfântu Gheorghe as a traveling capsule version of the Hungarian National Museum’s large-scale project, Hungarian Bride, after Budapest, Zagreb and Prague.

The exhibition was jointly opened by H.E. Katalin Kissné Hlatki, the Ambassador of Hungary in Bucharest, and Gábor Zsigmond, the President of the Public Collections Center of the Hungarian National Museum. The professional concept of the exhibition was developed by curator Dr. Ildikó Simonovics, and the event was hosted by Zsuzsanna Szebeni, director of the Liszt Institute Sfântu Gheorghe, and Attila Kopacz, director of the Árkos Cultural Center.

The Szekler Bride exhibition can be visited until April 24, 2026 at the Árkos Cultural Center in Sfântu Gheorghe, and then it continues its journey to Miercurea Ciuc from April 29, further strengthening the experience of community memory and belonging in the region.
