The exhibition organized on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the birth of sculptor András Kós, presents selected works from the artist’s oeuvre to the Bucharest audience. The exhibition, held at the Romanian National Peasant Museum (RNPM), was opened by the host Virgil Ștefan Nițulescu, Director of RNPM and H.E. Katalin Kissné Hlatki, Ambassador of Hungary to Bucharest.
The Ambassador began her opening speech by praising the fine arts exhibitions of the Liszt Institute in Bucharest, which cover the entire spectrum of universal Hungarian fine arts and present them in a high-quality manner, creating an important artistic base in Bucharest. One of the most effective forms of fine arts is sculpture, which is able to affect both human thinking and emotions.
Such is the work of András Kós, which is indispensable in Transylvanian fine arts. The Ambassador finally emphasized that the Bucharest exhibition will hopefully attract a large audience, as it represents a defining chapter in the history of Transylvanian fine arts.
