Between September 28 and October 6, 2026, Bucharest hosts "BukFeszt" - the festival of Transylvanian Hungarian theatres - for the 5th time. Organized by the Hungarian Theatre Association, the Romanian Theatre Association, and the Liszt Institute in Bucharest, this year’s festival features the participation of every Transylvanian Hungarian theatre. To mark the occasion of BukFe5zt, H.E. Ambassador Katalin Kissne Hlatki hosted a reception in the garden of the ambassador’s residency on September 29, 2026. In her welcoming remarks, she stated: "BukFeszt is one of the primary means of positioning Hungarian culture as an integral, indispensable, and valuable part of the Romanian capital's cultural life.
Alongside the Hungarian Music Festival (running for 23 years), the Bucharest Hungarian Film Week (marking its 20th anniversary this year), and the 8th Hungarian Jazz Days - which begin after BukFeszt - BukFeszt has become a genuine Hungarian cultural festival of which every Transylvanian Hungarian theatre can be proud."
